How I have laughed today at the resurgence of the Mukluk boot and at the same time totally miffed that you seem to be able to purchase them at least a £100 cheaper than when I obviously had more money than sense a couple of years ago….. but whatever you say about them, really all they make you want to do is dance and chant around your totem pole! 

Let’s face it - I didn’t wear them then and I am sure I am not going to wear them now… plus being a country bumpkin nowadays, someone will probably leap out of a hedge at me waving placards implicating me in animal cruelty which I might have to agree with as the little fellows that these are created from really are cute and shouldn’t end up trolleying around the streets of Liverpool with a Cricket bag under their arm!

Wonder how much I can get for them on Ebay now…. never been worn, as good as new in a very soft lovely grey…..Size 5…

Bring back the Moon Boot - far more practical….x

P.S.  The Celcius is in transit…. only a matter of days before I am a mere shadow of my former self….yeah right…

Is it us getting old or does Jaeger just keep getting better and better, season after season!  What once was quite frankly something your mother wore, now it’s de rigeur to say the least!

And just when you thought “I can wear this, it’s ok I can do Jaeger…”, they go and reinvent the homewares with beautiful bed linen, bedspreads and throws in all our favourite homey colours of browns, creams and whites!  Gorgeous!

Well it was only a matter of time and pure determination before we caved in and purchased THAT drink….. if it’s good enough for Katie Holmes (allegedly as no-one has actually seen her drink it…..) then it’s good enough for us!!!  At vast expense we have ordered some from www.vitaminneshop.com - god knows when it will arrive, whether it will even work but as you know we are a sucker for anything that aides and abetts the concept of losing weight without actually having to do anything!!!

But actually on a serious note, am now out power walking - thinking of changing route tomorrow due to lollipop lady now starting to time me there and back and I feel an unnecessary pressure to outdo myself on a daily basis just to impress her….and I feel the mockery of many a building site worker as I pound pass the latest housing block to go up ( and I notice a distinct lack of wolf whistle!!!) so that’s another reason to change! 

But, I will not be disheartened - and if a little help from a can of Celcius can just push things a little faster, nobody needs to know that actually that new route involved sitting on the park bench for half an hour….

Only joking….. I will persevere, I will persevere, I will persevere…..

Well we have been saying ever since she binned the pob that we love Posh’s short hair cut!  And oh my goodness, today, the £12 million Armani campaign kicked it into touch in no uncertain terms!  She looks the best she has ever looked and we don’t mind saying it!!

So much so that we are now casting aside our slight despair at her necessity to flash that Birkin….. really, it must have been padlocked to her - no normal person would dare to go out with that on their wrist!!  We did think that the old credit crunch might have made it to Beckingham towers - even if only superficially and that suddenly we might see Posh in Aldi or Lidl! 

It is after all the new M&S and before you know it, we’ll probably have entire ranges for the home, clothes, garden etc

And have you tried the chocolate from Lidl……oh my….x

Are we allowed to say that we are bored with the sales?  Is that politically correct? Husband would insist that we must hold out for 70% and accept nothing less because everyone else is - it’s almost as if the moment it goes to 70% is up there with the opening day of the Harrods Sale!

70% used to mean complete tat was all there was left to buy - now we’re talking an entire winter wardrobe (because let’s face it, it’s -10 outside so who’s buying shorts and a t shirt at this point….) - 70 is the new 30…..if you know what we mean..

So having said that, there are truly still some great bargains to behold and today we are hailing our friends at House of Fraser and the old faithful John Lewis to give us some good old fashioned bargains 

And don’t forget we have outrageous reductions on some of our stock at www.whatagirlneeds.co.uk - we need more space for new stock so happy shopping peeps….

Hello all

Well we promised you ideas, tips, the latest so today we are talking wallpaper…. (don’t you love how seemlessly our title links run into the blurb….)

So we just want to say that we have always been a fan of Clarissa Hulse and indeed feel that she should be available to purchase at What a Girl Needs which is something we intend to pursue this year

But whilst we do that, we can’t help but rave about the new fabrics and wallpapers and the upholstery fabrics are to die for… the eucalyptus print in the burnt orange or the fuschia just make you want to kick off your uggs, pour a vodka and slimline and pretend that spring is just around the corner!!  The eucalyptus won’t help the blocked nose, but it will put a smile on your face!!

Happy New Year to you all!!

Well New Year and new resolutions - one of our main ones being to keep the blog updated with all the latest ideas, trends, tips etc for you and your lifestyle!!

I know we have done bits n pieces but it’s time - it’s time to get off our ample behinds (far too much Turkish Delight has been consumed but goodness it was good….) detox (although they tell us not to bother this week) and get with the programme!

So on the detox front, we shall offer our view on what you should do (and it’s not rocket science….)

1.  Stop drinking…well one vodka and slimline won’t notice

2.  Stop the piece of cake at 11 and 4

3.  Cut back to 2 coffees before 12 (that’s good, it was always at least 4…)

4.  No potatoes… cruel but fair….

5.  Failing all that, purchase a tub of 1000g White Gold Detoxifying Crystal Salt from Ina Crystals (available at Space NK) and pour the lot in the bath - allegedly gives you an instant 3 day detox!!  Expensive in some ways at £44.04 but a lot cheaper than the gym, and you get to lie in the bath for half an hour!!

Job Done…

Who knows what tomorrow will bring…
